Stefano d'Aste: I missed the WTCC

Italian Stefano d'Aste will make his return to the peloton WTCC this season, behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Cruze TC1 from the Münnich Motorsport team, which continues its commitment to tourism in addition to his involvement in Rallycross with two Audi S3 RX Supercars. After several campaigns at the wheel of a BMW, d'Aste will discover the new tractions, which now reign in the championship.

“I am very happy to be back, admits the 40-year-old pilot. I missed the WTCC a lot last year, as did the people there at work. » Stefano d'Aste has currently signed a contract for the first eight events of the season with an option for the last four, following other commitments with Lotus. “We are working with him to find a solution together, explains René Münnich, the boss of the team. We are happy to have Stefano with us, a driver who has won races in the WTCC. » Münnich adds that the second Cruze TC1 is not expected to be fielded full-time this season.

The first round of the 2015 WTCC will take place from March 6 to 8 in Argentina, on the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit.
