TCR – Opel presents its Astra

It was this Thursday that Opel Motorsport lifted the veil on its Astra meeting TCR regulations. Deliveries are scheduled for February 2016.

After the Honda Civic, or the SEAT Leon which currently dominates the TCR International Series, Opel Motorsport will launch into the deep end with its Astra, officially presented this Thursday on the Jules Tacheny circuit in Belgium.

Powered by a 2 hp 330-liter turbo unit coupled to a six-speed gearbox with sequential control, the Astra, pure traction, weighs 1200 kg on the scale. It is Opel's long-term partner, Kissling Motorsport, which took care of the development of the car which we should see next year in the TCR championships, in particular the recently unveiled German version.

A limited number of copies will be made available to carefully selected customer teams from next February. The base price is set at €95 excluding tax. Other events will be able to accommodate cars meeting TCR regulations, such as the 000 Hours of Nürburgring.
