Team Goh returns with a McLaren 720S GT3 in 2019

Team Goh remains a big name in Japanese motorsport. Kazumichi Goh's team notably triumphed in JGTC in 1996 with the McLaren F1 GTR, before trying his luck at 24 Hours of Le Mans the following year under the Lark banner.

But Team Goh's great feat of arms remains the overall victory in Sarthe in 2004, under the name Audi Sport Japan Team Goh with Seiji Ara, Dindo Capello and Tom Kristensen.

In fact, seeing the Goh name in action again this year is a small event. The Japanese entity will renew its partnership with McLaren, by hiring under the McLaren Customer Racing Japan name a 720S GT3 in the GT300 category in Super GT.

Seiji Ara will make his return to the wheel and will be supported in the series promoted by GTA by the young Spaniard Alex Palou. Another car will be entered in the Super Taikyu championship for Alex Palou – Sena Sakaguchi – Takayuki Kinoshita.

We should also find the two McLaren 720S GT3s adorned with their pink livery, reminiscent of that of the 90s, at the start of the Suzuka 10 Hours next August, counting for the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Team Goh – McLaren Customer Racing Japan is the third team to formalize a program with the new 720S GT3, after Compass Racing in the IMSA Sprint Cup in the United States and Teo Martin Motorsports. The Spanish team, however, has not yet revealed in which European championship it will enter its car.
