Dylan O'Keeffe in Zolder with a Mégane

An Australian in WTCR is unheard of. So seeing one arrive in the middle of a global health crisis is a bit incongruous.

But Dylan O'Keefe will be the first Australian to ride in the championship at Zolder next weekend. He took advantage of the TCR Australia pause to freelance at the wheel of a Renault Mégane entered by the Vukovic team.

« The season is suspended until at least October, which created a window to travel and be able to follow the mandatory quarantine upon my return » explains the 22-year-old pilot.

Formé à l’école de la Porsche Cup, O’Keefe a remporté quatre victoires lors de sa première saison en TCR Australie l’an dernier. Il a pu tester la Mégane au mois d’août au Salzburgring avant de prendre le départ samedi. « We had a lot of rain in the morning and then the track dried out in the afternoon, which allowed me to understand the car in different conditions. »

In addition to Dylan O'Keefe, the Vukovic team is entering a Mégane for the entire season in the hands of Jack Young, the youngest in the championship at 18 years old.
