Mikel Azcona opportunistic in Vila Real

Mikel Azcona took his first WTCR victory after Race 2 in Vila Real (Portugal). The reigning TCR Europe champion was placed in the exhausts of pole-sitter Ma QIng Hua (Alfa Romeo) and took advantage of an error from the Chinese in the joker lap to take control and offer Cupra its first success of the season, just like for his PWR Racing team.

Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) a complété le podium et reprend une belle avance au classement Pilotes face à Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai), yesterday's winner who retired following contact with Kevin Ceccon (Alfa Romeo).

Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi) finished just off the podium, ahead of Nicky Catsburg (Hyundai). The Dutchman finished ahead of Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co), while his nephew and teammate Yann Ehrlacher took 8th place behind Rob Huff (Volkswagen). Aurélien Panis (Cupra) ranked 16th.
