Team WRT pauses TCR programs in 2020

One of the first top teams in Europe to turn to TCR in 2016 in collaboration with Leopard Racing, with Stefano Comini's title then that of Jean-Karl Vernay in the TCR International Series, Team WRT will abandon the TCR category in 2020.

Vincent Vosse's team has confirmed the pause for the next campaign of its commitment to tourism, having entered two Audi RS 3 LMS for Jean-Karl Vernay and Gordon Shedden in WTCR this year.

“Sepang will be our last race at the highest level in TCR, after two years in the TCR International Series and two in FIA WTCR, comments Vincent Vosse. It was an exciting and successful chapter in the history of our team, also through our involvement in the Europe and Benelux series.

We will keep many good memories and I hope we can have the opportunity to come back in the future. For 2020, alongside the GT3 and DTM, Team WRT will take on new challenges that we will present to you soon. »

An announcement which could also redistribute the cards to the other Team WRT programs, particularly in GT. On the DTM side, an announcement could come in the coming days, with changes to be expected in the driver duo.

Only Team Comtoyou would remain to defend the colors of Audi Sport in WTCR, but the Belgian team has not confirmed anything for 2020 for its programs.
