BoP WTCR known for the finale

The manufacturer that benefits the most from the adjustment of the balance of performance is Cupra. Cyan racing and Cyan performance, the two Lynk & Co 03 TCR operating teams, know how to compensate for this weight with sophisticated adjustments that allow the blue cars to stay in the game. But on a route like that of Sochi, which is expected to be very fast, this excess weight could become a real handicap. Yann Ehrlacher will be able to count on the support of Yvan Muller, Thed Björk and undoubtedly Santiago Urrutia to contain the onslaught of the competition. 

Vervisch launches the counterattack

The Audi RS3 LMS, from the Belgian Comtoyou team, remain at the same weight as that displayed in Italy. Fred Vervisch, current runner-up in the ranking, has a real chance of winning the title. However, many events would have to turn in his favor to see him triumph. We can trust the Belgian to do his best to play his card until the last corner this weekend. In the camp of Hyundai, it is with the same weight that the Elantras of JK Vernay, Gabriele Tarquini, Norbert Michelisz and Luca Engstler, will be entered for the two races. By his own admission, JK has nothing more to hope for regarding the 2021 title, he prefers to concentrate on the vice-champion place, but we will have to count on him to come and play trouble.

The car that will suffer the most from the BoP is the newcomer Lada Vesta. The Russian car will carry 60 kg for being a newcomer to the championship, an additional 40 kg will be allocated to it because the Russians do not use the Magneti Marelli electronic box required by the WTCR. 10 kg are also added to the “wild card” for the weekend, you might as well get used to the idea that the Vestas will never see the top of the grid.
