Yvan Muller, how did you take this news and how do you feel?
We feel bad and disappointed. We didn't take this decision very well emotionally. We are competitors, we wanted to ride, but we are not decision-makers. Our job is to race, but when our employer tells us that we don't ride, we respect the decision.
This must be all the more heartbreaking when we see the enthusiasm of Alsatians for motorsport, especially when Sébastien Loeb participate in Rally d'Alsace, and that many things had been put in place for you, at home...
It's terrible. The Ring of the Rhine got wet because there are two Alsatians (Yann Ehrlacher and Yvan Muller. Editor’s note) in the championship. We got wet too, as it was an opportunity to have a home race. It was the first time in forty years of experience that I had the opportunity to ride on a circuit on my land. This won't happen to me again, maybe not to Yann either. Communities will remember this. The circuit did its job and they are also victims of the situation.
Do you blame the WTCR and the FIA for not listening to you?
I don't want to get into that. I don't want to criticize anyone, everyone can be improved. We, pilots and employees, are passengers in a situation.
