Travis Pastrana ends his Nascar career

The Nationwide will lose a celebrity next year, with Travis Pastrana having announced his departure at the end of the year after only playing a full season in the second National Series. The American star failed to make an early comeback with Roush Fenway Racing, with his No. 60 Ford only finishing in the top ten four times. The American star will compete in his last event in the discipline this weekend at Miami-Homestead. “This season has been an incredible experience. I made a lot of friends and had a lot of fun. Jack Roush and Roush Fenway Racing tried everything to help me succeed and I am very grateful for their support. It's hard to go back and show that the critics were right, but unfortunately my results weren't good enough to get the necessary sponsors. »

Travis Pastrana will take the opportunity to spend more time with his family and resume his career in rally and off-road. “I also needed to step back and analyze my situation as a husband and as a father. The program of the Nascar is grueling and requires immense sacrifices from those you love to make it work. With this lack of finances for next year, I now have the opportunity to step back and support my wife (Lyn-z, professional skateboarder). I hate giving up and failing, but these things happen sometimes. I have never managed to achieve the required standards and this is disappointing. I'm going to do more rally and off-road racing and I'll make announcements on that soon. »
