Truex Jr. solo at Martinsville
Although discreet during the first two thirds of the race, Martin Truex Jr. (Joe Gibbs Racing) was able to show mischief at the end of the race to claim his second victory of the campaign.
While success seemed promised to them, Ryan Blaney (Team Penske) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) were surprised by a fleeting Martin Truex Jr. at the end of the race.
Cette victoire, l’homme de la Toyota Camry N°19 est allé se la chercher tout seul. Présent dans le peloton de tête mais sans vraiment s’y faire remarquer, le pilote du Joe Gibbs Racing a attendu les derniers instants de ces 500 tours pour y placer une attaque létale.
Very fast during the last refueling, Truex Jr. left the pit lane in the lead in front of his teammate. Trailing at the time of the restart, the 2017 champion was patient and took back the lead with 14 laps to go.

He then went solo to take part in Victory Lane for the second time this season, becoming the first driver to score two victories in 2021.
