A Pro category confirmed in GT at the FIA Motorsport Games

We remember a rather cautious Stéphane Ratel when we discussed with him the possibility of a GT event for Pro drivers at the FIA Motorsport Games in 2019.

However, the idea made its way into the mind of the boss of SRO Motorsports, who confirmed this Friday during his press conference what had been put forward a few months ago, by giving a place to Pros in GT for 2021.

The event, organized only on Sunday following the Pro-Am event (Silver and Bronze drivers), will last one hour and will only see one driver per car.

In addition to this novelty, the development paths of these FIA Motorsport Games are continuing their course, with the emphasis on rally already announced, the event having to take the courses of Sainte-Baume. Cars meeting Rally2 and Rally4 regulations are expected for the discipline.

16 to 18 categories are hoped for by SRO, with nearly 80 nations expected to compete for the medals at stake and the trophy rewarding the best nation in total categories.

The motorsport “Games” will take place at Paul Ricard from October 21 to 24, or a weekend later, depending on the calendar of other international championships.
