V8 – Chaz Mostert injured in Bathurst 1000 qualifying

Chaz Mostert was the victim of an impressive off-track during qualifying for the Bathurst 1000 held at Mount Panorama (video). The driver of the No. 6 Ford Falcon was hospitalized with a fractured wrist and femur and could be out for the rest of the season. The Pepsi Max Crew resident occupies second place in the Championship behind his teammate Mark Winterbottom.

His accident forced the commissioners to postpone Bathurst 1000 qualifying until the next day, Saturday October 10. All on-track activities have also been suspended for the day.

Five commissioners were also injured. While four of them only suffered minor injuries, another was hospitalized for more serious chest injuries, but his state of health is not worrying.
