Van der Ende-Lessennes and Guilvert-Michal crowned in Silver and Pro-Am at Paul Ricard

Nicolas Gomar and Mike Parisy (Aston Martin Vantage GT4 n°89 – AGS Events) concluded the 2020 season of France championship FFSAGT by a victory during the second race at Paul Ricard, decisive for the award of the Silver, Pro-Am and Am Cup titles.

The first losers of this last confrontation are Nicolas Cheers and Christopher Campbell (Alpine A110 GT4 n°36 – CMR), spun at the first corner following a collision, before being hit a little later in the lap by another car.

In the running for the Pro-Am crown, the Prost-Campbell duo must give up while the leaders of the classification Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°42 – Saintéloc Racing) are not spared with apparent mechanical problems, also forcing the reigning French champions to retire, but the Pro-Am title is then sealed.

The race is then neutralized under safety car regime after contact between the Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°3 – CD Sport of Clément Bully and the Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°16 – AKKA-ASP of Vincent Marserou at the first corner.

At the restart, Adrien Tambay (Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°27 – Saintéloc Racing) still leads Jim Pla (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°87 – AKKA-ASP) in his wake.

The titles are emerging

After the change of drivers, Cyril Saleilles, relay of Adrien Tambay, can take the lead again but is quickly put under pressure by Jean-Luc Beaubelique, teammate of Jim Pla.

A little further in the peloton, the fight for the Silver Cup title sees Ricardo van der Ende (BMW M4 GT4 n°17 – L'Espace Bienvenue) attacked by Edouard Cauhaupé (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°2 – CD Sport). The latter, however, drops his pace after a collision with the BMW and plunges in the ranking.

At the head of the race, Cyril Saleilles must observe a one-second stop&go for an infraction in the pit lane, and leaves the controls of the event to Nicolas Gomar (Aston Martin Vantage GT4 n°89 – AGS Events), who came overtake Jean-Luc Beaubelique.

From then on, the hierarchy no longer evolves to the checkerboard with success for the Gomar – Parisy duo, winner in Pro-Am, ahead of Alain Ferté and Grégoire Demoustier (Alpine A110 GT4 n°35 – Bodemer Auto) and Thomas Drouet – Paul Petit (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°88 – AKKA-ASP) who won the Silver Cup.

But it is Ricardo van der Ende and Benjamin Lessennes in Silver and Grégory Guilvert – Fabien Michal in Pro-Am who are crowned. En Am Cup, César Gazeau et Wilfried Cazalbon (Toyota GR Supra GT4 n°66 – CMR) l’emportent et sécurisent le titre Am Cup.
