Villeneuve at the 24 Hours of Spa

Jacques Villeneuve is missing the wheel and does not hesitate to entrust it. A few weeks ago, the Canadian told AUTOhebdo that the Formula 1 always interested him and that it corresponded perfectly to the idea he had of a car. In the meantime, the 1997 F1 world champion satisfies his thirst for driving, mainly on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The weekend of June 6-7, Jacques Villeneuve took part in the 12 Hours of Spa, a BTCS event, the Belgian touring car championship. This time, the Canadian is moving to the next level, including the legendary 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on his program. He will be at the wheel of the Mosler MT900R from the Gravity Racing International team alongside the Belgian Vincent Radermecker, the Chinese Ho-Pin Tung (registered in SuperLeague Formula with Atletico Madrid) and Loris de Sordi. The crew is registered in the G2 category, notably alongside the Audi R8 LMS from Phoenix Racing.

The Maseratis of the Vitaphone team, who achieved the double last year, will start with the status of favorite for the event. The usual crew of the No. 1, Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini, is joined, like last year, by Stéphane Sarrazin, but also by Xandi negrao, which was in 2008 in n°2. The latter will be driven by Miguel Ramos and Alex Müller, who are joined by Eric Van de Poele, who rode on the No. 1 in 2008, and Pedro Lamy, who returns to endurance, six weeks with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 24 Hours of Spa is scheduled to take place next week, July 23-26.
