Walkenhorst dominates the 24H qualifying race. of the Nurburgring

Before the big German meeting on the weekend of June 22 and 23, the main competitors of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring gathered last weekend on the Nordschleife for the traditional qualifying event, contested over six hours.

The No. 101 of the trio Christian Krognes – Nick Yelloly – David Pittard wins under the checkered flag, thanks to a perfectly executed final stint by Christian Krognes, revelation of the 24 Hours of Spa last year, and which put the n°101 in the lead, overtaking Jesse Krohn (BMW M6 GT3 n°99 – ROWE Racing).

Ce dernier, épaulé par John Edwards, termine 2e devant la voiture-soeur n°98 de Connor de Phillippi – Tom Blomqvist – Mikkel Jensen. Cette dernière a profité des déboires juste avant le dernier tour de la Porsche 911 GT3 R n°911 – Manthey Racing de Laurens Vanthoor – Kévin Estre – Earl Bamber – Michael Christensen, freinée par des soucis de direction.

Romain Dumas, Mathieu Jaminet, Sven Müller and Matt Campbell place the first Porsche 911 GT3 R n°31 – Frikadelli Racing in 4th position ahead of the first Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°6 – Black Falcon by Assenheimer – Bastian – Piana – Buurman.

Frédéric Makowiecki and Patrick Pilet, associated with Nick Tandy in the n°911 Porsche 3 GT1 R – Manthey Racing finished 7th behind the n°003 SCG705C – Team Glickenhaus de Mutsch – Laser – Mailleux – Simonsen.

9th place for Matthieu Vaxivière, lined up in the No. 3 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT39 – KCMG.
