WTCC – José María López expects a more difficult season

World Champion last year at the wheel of the Citroen C-Elysee, for the first year of the chevron brand in the WTCC, Jose Maria Lopez had gotten the better of his teammates Yvan Muller and Sébastien Loeb. The Argentinian, who will begin his title defense at home, the weekend of March 8 on the Termas de Rio Hondo route, is particularly wary of the quadruple world champion in the discipline.

“The competition is going to be a lot tighter because the other drivers know me, and they're going to push harder and you can already see that with Honda, or the Chevrolet drivers and in my team. And there is a new car from LADA. I can see a lot more commitment from my teammate Yvan Muller. He attacks more and more. The competition is tougher, but in the end I just have to do my best, work exactly the same and be as fast as I was last year. »

José María López won 10 races last year to secure his first world title ahead of Yvan Muller. Remember that Citroën Racing will field four cars for López, Muller, Loeb and the Chinese Ma Qing Hua.
