WTCC / Slovakia: Huff and Muller catch up in C2

Stefano d?Aste (BMW) was able to maintain his pole advantage at the first corner, but the group of Chevrolet drivers led by Rob Huff quickly returned to the front to threaten the Italian. The race leader then made an error allowing the Chevy triplet to take the lead along with Gabriele Tarquini (Seat). Motivated by his victory in Race 1, the Lukoil Racing driver took the advantage over Alain Menu on the second lap.

The Swiss finally retired with a puncture, a rim of his Cruze having been damaged in contact with the BMW of Stefano d?Aste. Rob Huff finally won his first victory of the season ahead of his teammate Yvan Muller who almost made a mistake after being hit by the Seat of Gabriele Tarquini who finally reached the last step of the podium. The reigning champion retains the lead in the Championship with 148 points but it is now Rob Huff who is the Frenchman's closest rival with 26 points behind, five more than Alain Menu.
