12 Superleague Formula races

For the first time, three countries will host multiple events with two races in England, Spain and Germany.

The season will start on April 3 and 4 at Silverstone on a new circuit for the Superleague Formula. The championship will continue in Assen (Netherlands) before visiting the Magny-Cours circuit on May 22 and 23.

Then the single-seaters will meet at Jarama (Spain), on the Nurburgring and at Oschersleben (Germany), at Zolder (Belgium), at Brands Hatch for the second passage on the other side of the Channel, at Estoril (Portugal) , in Monza (Italy), in Jerez (Spain) to end on a circuit which has yet to be confirmed.

Robin Webb, competition director of Superleague Formula, is satisfied with this new calendar: “There is a wide variety of circuits with some which host or have hosted the F1 but also regional circuits which are very well located. For example, Jarama being so close to Madrid gave Atletico fans the opportunity to come there and cheer for their team, something that attracted 30 people in 000. With more drivers from Having shown interest, I am sure that 2009 will be a season to remember. »

“We are still in negotiations for one or even two rounds outside Europe for the end of the year. We have received several offers and our two main interests are the Middle East and South America,” he adds.
