Alexander Smolyar stays with ART Grand Prix

Author of a pole position and a podium in 2020, Alexander Smolyar will complete a second season in Formula 3. The Russian driver, 11th in the championship last year, will stay with ART Grand Prix in 2021 with whom he will try to play at the forefront on a more regular basis.

Since the start of his career, the young man has shown that he can have a superb burst of speed, especially in the rain, but that he perhaps lacked a little consistency over the duration of a championship. An additional season at ART should allow him to gain even more experience.

“Alex had a very good start to his first F3 season and he gave us satisfaction, even if a few retirements early in the season slowed down his progress, judged Sébastien Philippe, the boss of the French team. His driving skills are solid and he has progressed a lot. “He should be able to challenge for the title in 2021.”
