This should give Yuto Nomura some confidence after his difficult weekend in Pau seven days ago when he did not participate in the last two races. Taking advantage of the reverse grid system of this Race 2, the member of the Red Bull Junior Team put all the chances on its side to achieve its 2e triumph of the year, once again in Race 2 after Nogaro in April.
Left since 2e position just behind Pierre-Alexandre Provost, Yuto Nomura waited during the first minutes of the race before going on the attack. Nestled in the exhausts of his counterpart, the Nippon took the upper hand with less than a quarter of an hour to go thanks to a daring overtake at the entrance to Imola. The hardest part, the Japanese quickly took shelter from his rival whom he was ahead of by almost a second under the checkerboard. The Colombian Jéronimo Berrio completed the podium in Race 2 at Magny-Cours.
Arao, the good operation
In the fight for the championship against Hugh Barter and Alessandro Giusti, Souta Arao carried out the good operation of this Race 2. The Japanese first saw the second city not take the start after having encountered mechanical problems before the first fell in the standings after an incident in the first round.
His two rivals on the mat, even if Hugh Barter finished 20e, Souta Arao pocketed the 6 points of the 5e place to take 17 lengths ahead of Alessandro Giusti and come back to 41 points behind the leader Barter.
