Liam Lawson continues to impress in Super Formula. Thanks to a profitable strategy, the New Zealander won at Autopolis, the scene of the fourth round of the season. A victory that counts double since in the absence of his teammate Tomoki Nojiri (victim of a pneumothorax and package this weekend), the protégé of the sector Red Bull also takes the lead in the Super Formula championship.

Starting second on the grid, Lawson had an average start, losing his position to Sena Sakaguchi. The Team Mugen driver was not discouraged however and thanks to a undercut successful and with perfect timing with the Safety Car, the rookie was able to take control of the race at the end of the event, ahead of Ritomo Miyata and pole sitter Sho Tsuboi. On the French side, Guiliano Alesi, who started 18th, failed to get back into the points zone and finished the race in 13th place.

In the championship, Liam Lawson regains the leader's seat with 57 points, 4 points more than Ritomo Miyata. Sho Tsuboi is now 3rd with 46 points, ahead of Tomoki Nojiri, whose tally logically remains at 42 points. The New Zealander therefore carried out an excellent operation of the weekend. A result which should not go unnoticed by Helmut Marko in Milton Keynes…
