Winner of his first Super Formula race at Sugo on June 19, Sacha Fenestraz had much less success at Fuji last weekend. So on the defensive to keep your 7e position facing Naoki Yamamoto (TCS Nakajima Racing), the Franco-Argentinian finished his route into the protective wall on the left side with a car cut in two after contact with its counterpart.
Immediately taken care of by the medical team, Sacha Fenestraz was evacuated to the hospital where he underwent a series of examinations. A little less than a week after this violent accident, the Kondo Racing driver published a message to provide some details.
« Last weekend I had one of the biggest accidents of my career so far. Luckily I didn't have any major injuries, he advances on Twitter. It was a tough weekend overall and the accident only made things worse. As for contact (with Naoki Yamamoto), unfortunately I couldn't do much and before I knew it, I was already in the wall.
Thanks to the circuit's medical team for their incredible work but also to Super Formula and Dallara for the safety of these cars. We will come back stronger for the next race (Motegi, August 20 and 21). »
