Baguette approaches the title

However, it is Daniil Move, benefiting from the reverse grid, who starts in pole position for the first race of the German weekend. After a bad start, Bertrand Baguette moved back to second place, his initial position on the grid. He is ahead of Jon Lancaster, Oliver Turvey, Jaime Alguersuari and Fairuz Fauzy. But the ranking at the top of the table will not stop there.

Fairuz Fauzy appears to be the most agitated at the start of the race. Tipped to win a shuttlecock in Formula 1 in 2010 at Lotus, the Malaysian tried to overtake Jaime Alguersuari to try to move towards the podium. He succeeded in the ninth round when, in the lead, Baguette managed to gain the upper hand over Move. The Russian must now resist Lancaster, Turvey and Fauzy.

But Fauzy, definitely in great form, overtook Turvey before setting off in pursuit of Lancaster. The latter, feeling the Malaysian approaching, tries everything and overtakes Move. Unfortunately for the Briton, his attempt was deemed dangerous by the commissioners. He will be penalized at the end of the race.

On the fifteenth lap, Bertrand Baguette, while in the lead, saw James Walker, rival in the general classification, abandon. Meanwhile, Fauzy continued his comeback and managed to overtake Move, securing a place on the podium. After Lancaster's downgrade, Fauzy will even inherit second place, Move managing to obtain the third folding seat on the podium.

Bertrand Baguette thus won the first race at the Nürburgring, his third victory of the year, and took a breath of fresh air at the top of the general classification. With 42 points ahead of Jaime Alguersuari, new second overall, the Belgian could be titled in the second race of this weekend.
