Bourdais enjoys Monza

Sébastien Bourdais won its second consecutive victory in Superleague Formula this Sunday at Monza. In Estoril, the Frenchman was a beginner in the discipline, finishing in second place in the second race, before winning in the super final. At Monza, the Manceau logically arrived with more experience. Qualified in second position on the grid, Bourdais took advantage of the flying start to overtake Esteban Guerrieri (Olympiakos) before the first chicane of the circuit.

Sébastien Bourdais then strived to widen a significant gap. If he succeeded, it was in the peloton that he distanced himself, failing to get rid of Olympiakos. Far behind, the car from FC Bale allowed the two men to escape, before Julien Housse (AS Roma) managed to move into third position.

Sébastien Bourdais makes his pit stop before halfway, a few minutes before his rival Guerrieri. The Olympiakos driver is ready to take over that of Sevilla FC but the Frenchman manages to overtake Guerrieri before he leaves the stands. The fight will not stop throughout the twenty minutes of racing.

Returning to the Atletico Madrid car, the duel is still present and Guerrieri tries to take the slipstream to overtake Bourdais more easily. But the Olympiakos driver lost a little time in this overtaking and will no longer be able to close the gap. Sébastien Bourdais therefore allows Sevilla FC to shine the spotlight once again and wins its second race in Superleague Formula.

« It was a fantastic race but very difficult, declared the Frenchman at the foot of the podium. It was a fierce but very exciting duel against Esteban (Guerrieri, Olympiakos). I managed to get a good start and ride well in my first stint but then there was traffic and it became very difficult to contain Esteban. So I'm very happy to have imposed myself. »
