C1: Beckmann triumphs over the rain

The rain having arrived early in the morning, the start took place on a wet track. From pole position, David Beckman (Trident) manages to avoid chaos behind him, the majority of drivers not being able to take the first corner correctly due to significant water splashes and a few puddles remaining on the track.

Anthoine Hubert (ART GP) manages to keep his second place while the battles for 3e place between Leonardo Pulcini (Campos) and the ART GP of Callum Ilott and Nikita mazepin increase in intensity.

The race was marked by repeated errors from Nikita Mazepin who finally saw Callum Ilott and Simo Laaksonen (Campos) pass him in front. Bad luck pursued Pulcini who suffered a mechanical problem a few laps before the end of his home round.

Despite a virtual safety car to recover the car from Diego Menchaca (Campos), the victory did not escape Beckmann who kept a constant advantage of at least five seconds over Hubert throughout the race.

Ilott finishes 3e of the event ahead of Laaksonen who signs his best result in GP3. Nikita Mazepin ranks 5e in front of the Tridents of Giuliano Alesi and Pedro Piquet. Rookie Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) takes reverse pole for race 2 while Jake Hughes (ART GP) and Niko Kari (MP Motorsport), despite a penalty, complete the top 10. The two Ardens from Gabriel Aubry et Julien Falchero were forced to abandon.
