C1: Mazepin wins from his debut

Everything was decided at the start when Leonardo Pulcini (Campos), starting from pole position, missed his start and found himself behind a trio of ART Grand Prix led by Nikita mazepin. The Russian rookie, worried yesterday about his ability to hold his tires, nevertheless sets a frantic pace that even Anthoine Hubert cannot follow, the Frenchman even passing by Callum Ilott at the start of the race.

The positions remain unchanged until the last five laps where Hubert regains rhythm and passes his English teammate, but the gap is too big with Mazepin to regain second place. The Russian therefore won on his debut in the GP3 Series for what was only his second career victory. He is thus ahead of Anthoine Hubert, who takes the best lap in the race, and Callum Ilott who offers a 100% ART GP podium.

Leonardo Pulcini finished in 4th place ahead Dorian Boccolacci (MP Motorsport) struggling with its tires at the end of the race. David Beckmann (Jenzer) finishes his race in 6e position in front Giuliano Alesi (Trident) and Juan Manuel Correa (Jenzer) who takes the provisional reverse pole. Pedro Piquet (Trident) finishes 9e despite a broken wing and Diego Menchaca (Campos) completes the top 10. Gabriel Aubry (Arden) finishes his first GP3 race in 12the place and Julien Falchero (Arden) 14e.
