C2 – Armstrong wins at Spa, Shwartzman widens the gap

Marcus Armstrong (Prema) was the man for the job in the FIA Sprint Race Formula 3 in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). Sunday September 1, the New Zealander transformed his pole position into an undeniable success. He was never attacked during the 17 laps of the event.

The 19-year-old driver beat the Japanese to the finish line Yuki tsunoda (Jenzer) and championship leader Robert Shwartzman (Prema). The latter increases his lead to 23 points over Jehan Daruvala (Prema, 5th) thanks to an effective comeback from eighth place.

Another challenger for the title, Jüri Vips does not score any points after a collision and a broken wing. A real blow for the Estonian (21st).

The event was marked by an accident by Simo Laaksonen on the third lap. The MP Motorsport resident spun at the Blanchimont corner before going under the wall of tires. Fortunately, the Finn was announced unharmed by the FIA.
