F V8 3.5 – Alex Palou goes all the way at the Nürburgring

After losing his chances of victory in Race 1 after clashing with Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus), Alex Palou (Teo Martin Motorsport) dominated the field of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 in Race 2 on the Nürburgring (Germany) contested in drying conditions.

Nelson's replacement Mason retained his pole advantage in the first stint before being overtaken by Matevos Isaakyan (SMP Racing by AVF) who passed the slicks before the Spaniard. A failed braking by the Russian at the first corner allowed the pole-sitter to regain the lead ahead of his teammate Konstantin Tereschenko who finally took 4th place following a 10s penalty imposed for cutting off the exit from the pits.

Matevos Isaakyan, the winner of Race 1, and his teammate Egor Orudzhev completed the podium. The first Russian named takes the lead in the Championship by 5 points, taking advantage of the poor performance of Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus) and Alfonso Celis Jr (Fortec Motorsports). The Brazilian failed to improve on his 6th position on the grid while the Mexican spun in his first stint and finished behind the grandson of Emerson Fittipaldi.

Diego Menchaca (Fortec Motorsports) was in the fight for the podium starting from the front row, but the Mexican made several errors while struggling with his slick tires on the drying Nürburgring track. He ranks 10th behind René Binder (Lotus) transparent in this race.
