He almost signed it at Castellet a week ago but Logan sargeant (Carlin) had deprived him of it for 7 thousandths. In Hungary, Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS) did not miss his chance and 7 days after his first victory in F2 he won his first pole position!

Everything seemed to be heading towards a very close end of the session with the Top 3, in which there was notably Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix), separated by barely a tenth. This was without counting on the enthusiasm of Ayumu Iwasa, unleashed since the meeting in France a week ago. On the momentum of his first victory in F2, and moreover in the Main Race, the Nippon left everyone speechless by completing his fastest lap in 1'27"930. A performance which allowed him to be the only driver under 1'28 but above all to push back his first pursuers by more than 3 tenths!

So in the fight for pole position, Marcus Armstrong (Hitech GP) was unable to do anything against the mark established by Ayumu Iwasa, decidedly too fast for everyone this Friday.

Drugovich leads Pourchaire by a short head

In the fight for the top of the table, it was Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport) who gained the upper hand over Théo Pourchaire. Often behind the Habs since the start of the day, the Brazilian found the necessary resources to beat his runner-up by 19 thousandths, thus securing 3rd place on the grid for the Main Race this Sunday. Logan Sargeant completed the Top 5, 4 tenths behind Ayumu Iwasa.

Tenth in these qualifications in Hungary, Jack Doohan (Virtuosi) inherits pole position for the Sprint Race. He will lead the peloton ahead of Enzo Fittipaldi (Charouz) and Dennis Hauger (Prema). Théo Pourchaire will be 7th.
