After a chaotic sprint race on Saturday, it was hard to imagine that this main race would not be of the same ilk. And that's exactly what happened, with three Safety Cars, two virtual SCs and a leader who made a mistake in the slow castle sector a few minutes from the end of the race. In the middle of it all, he is the champion of Formula 3 in title who emerged and who went for his first victory of the season in the main race, his second of the season in Formula 2.

Starting 3rd on the grid thanks to a good qualifying, Hauger lost a position on the first lap, overtaken by Marcus Armstrong, but he then made no more mistakes. He actually waited until the pit stops to overtake Liam Lawson (Turn 9). Then when Marcus Armstrong locked his wheels on a Safety Car restart, and impaled Jüri Vips in T1, Hauger took the opportunity to take second place.

A position in which we imagined him finishing his Sunday, which would also have constituted his best result in the main race. But the Norwegian was going to do even better, by witnessing as a privileged witness the big mistake of race leader Jüri Vips. After Imola... after Barcelona, Vips made another mistake by making a mistake in the slow Chateau sector, six minutes from the end of the race, giving victory to the Norwegian from the Prema team.

Without shining, the championship leader Felipe Drugovich achieved a superb operation by finishing on the podium in third position. the Brazilian managed a clean race, staying out of the mayhem, and further increased his lead at the top of the championship with the bankruptcy of Vips and the arrival of Theo Pourchaire outside the top 10.

The Frenchman from the ART Grand Prix team went through all the emotions. Starting 12th, he brilliantly slipped up to 9th at the first corner, thanks to a superb takeoff... before losing two positions and regaining two in the pits. Then on a chaotic Safety Car restart, the Habs lost their front wing and had to plunge back into the pit lane. Despite an avionic pace at the end of the race, he fell short of the points. Note that many drivers are under investigation, starting with Théo Pourchaire for the relaunch of Safety Car.
