After a morning session disrupted by light rain and a track temperature of only 14 degrees, the drivers of Formula 2 logically improved their times during the afternoon. While Felipe Drugovich had set the reference mark for the morning in 1'29"755, Ralph Boschung (Campos) was two seconds faster per lap during the second session on Tuesday, being the only one to go under the barrier. 1'28.
Marcus Armstrong and Hitech dominated the session for a long time thanks to a time recorded during the race simulations, but the Swiss ended up adjusting the sights and making his mark by passing the Softs. The New Zealander achieved the second fastest time, also improving on red tires.
Already very fast this morning with the third fastest time, the surprising rookie Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS) did it again with the third fastest time of the session (+0 »402), ahead of Marino Sato (Virtuosi) and the championship leader. Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport).
For its part, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) finished the day in 6th position, just ahead of his teammate Frederik Vesti, who is starting to get up to speed after a difficult Saudi round. Note that the red flag was waved twice with the exit of the track by Jüri Vips at turn 3, and the stopping of the car de Logan sargeant in the first turn. As a reminder, the second of three days of driving will take place this Wednesday from 9 a.m.
