Funny qualifications experienced by the pilots of F2 this Friday in Jeddah. Within the walls of the urban circuit, many were trapped and made mistakes like Logan sargeant (Pug). When attacking in the 2nd sector, the Englishman lost control of his mount and was unable to do anything to avoid the impact destroying a large part of his car. But before him, it is Theo Pourchaire who experienced such disillusionment even if the damage came from within his car.

For the Habs, this first day unfortunately did not go without hiccups. In the wall during testing at the end of the morning and with a badly damaged car, he saw his hopes of pole position go up in smoke in the space of a short time.

In preparation for his first run, the Grassois driver was forced to stop his car near a marshals' post due to a fire in the engine compartment. With only one time to his credit established at the start of the session, well behind that of the leading group, Théo Pourchaire will start in 21st position for the two races of the weekend. He could lose very big while he leads the championship.

Drugovich dethrones Armstrong

In the midst of this chaos, it was Felipe Drugovich who stood out. Fastest man in free practice, the Brazilian took advantage of a disagreement with the race management who brandished a 3e red flag and prematurely ended the session to seize the pole position previously held by Marcus Armstrong (ART Grand Prix).

While some drivers left their cars, the race direction finally waved the green flag for the last 5 minutes. A godsend for the MP Motorsport driver who smashed the New Zealander's mark by more than 6 tenths (1'41"050 against 1'40"422). A time that will never be beaten, not even by Richard Verschoor (Trident), 2e at the finish just over 2 tenths behind. Jack Doohan (Virtuosi) completed the Top 3.

Regarding the Sprint Race grid, Jack Hughes (VAR) will start on pole ahead of Jüri Vips (Hitech GP) and Calan Williams (Trident).
