The wait was long this Sunday at Zandvoort but Felipe Drugovoch (MP Motorsport) was able to convert his pole position into victory during the Main Race. A 5e success this season which allowed the Brazilian to put one hand, or even one and a half, on the champion trophy.

To cross the finish line in the lead, Felipe Drugovich had to show resistance. He first had to resist the attacks of Jack Doohan (Virtuosi) who was present in his mirrors in the first laps. After a first period of total neutralization (red flag after leaving the track Logan sargeant), the MP Motorsport driver relaunched the pack and stayed in the lead until the first round of refueling.

Emerging virtually in the lead in front of Jack Doohan while waiting for the last stops, the South American had a big scare at 21e lap when the race was restarted after the incident involving Marino Sato (Virtuosi), who crashed into the wall after losing a wheel. Ambushing in the middle of the peloton, Felipe Drugovich narrowly avoided the carnage caused by Richard Verschoor (Trident) behind him. The Dutchman misjudged the restart of the race and hit Jack Doohan in front of him who almost took the Brazilian away in the pile-up.

Restarted one last time, the Main Race did not complete the 40 laps planned due to lack of time. Nothing too worrying for Felipe Drugovich who was able to cross the finish line alone ahead of Richard Verschoor, who will be investigated after the race, and Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS).

Pourchaire comes back but loses big

To Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix), the mission was clear: come back to hope to score a few points and lose as few as possible against Felipe Drugovich. From 16th place on the grid, the task looked difficult and it was. Using an offbeat strategy, the Frenchman managed as best he could to gain a few places but the numerous interruptions did not work in his favor.

At the finish, Théo Pourchaire managed to get into the points but only scored one, losing 24 against Felipe Drugovich in the championship. The Habs have certainly limited the damage but in the ranking this poor performance results in a delay of 70 units.
