Like at home. Carried by the spectators present in the Silverstone stands, Zak O'Sullivan (Carlin) stood out in front of his family. Present in the Top 10 during practice this Friday morning, the Briton raised his voice in the afternoon to take the first pole position of his career.

In the lead after the first runs, Zak O'Sullivan was incisive during his penultimate attempt. With a lap of 1'44"597, the Carlin driver set the tone less than 5 minutes from the checkered flag. Nothing to breathe for him since Arthur Leclerc (Prema) and Zane Maloney (Trident) were 25 and 41 thousandths behind him respectively.

Setting out for a final flying lap, Zak O'Sullivan ultimately did not improve his mark. Nothing too alarming since behind him Arthur Leclerc and Zane Maloney also failed, thus freezing the positions and offering the Briton his first pole position. Caio Collet (MP Motorsport) and Jak Crawford (Prema) completed the Top 5 of these qualifications.

Hadjar and Martins miss the boat

On a circuit where he arrived with great ambitions, Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) was not able to put everything together in this qualifying session. Hindered during his preparation, the Habs then had difficulty in certain places where he lost control of his car. Never really in his element, the Ile-de-France resident finally got away with the 9e chrono.

His compatriot Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) experienced similar disillusionment. In a very tight field during qualifying with the first 14 drivers in 4 tenths, the Frenchman was not able to do well with the 11e chrono only. Small consolation prize for Martins since this 11e place offers him the 1e line of the Sprint Race where Reece Ushijima (VAR) will start in pole position.
