The Sprint Race by Isack Hadjar looked more like an obstacle course than a long, calm river. Stopped by a gearbox problem while setting off for his last attempt in qualifying, the Hitech GP driver had to settle for an unfortunate 23e place on the rack.

« Motivation was difficult to find before departure, he admitted to us. I still had to stay focused to try to bring back a few points. We deserved to fight for pole position on Friday. » And that's what he did this Saturday in the Ardennes slide.

Stuck at the back of the peloton, Isack Hadjar took his troubles patiently. After an average start for which he regretted his choice to negotiate the La Source bend, the Ile-de-France resident used his speed to make up a good part of his delay even if he had to deal with numerous Safety Cars which did not help him. not allowed to keep the same dynamic throughout.

« I had a complicated start, he underlines, full of lucidity. I think I didn't choose the right line for the first turn. This compromised a good part of my race. Luckily, I had a very good pace and was able to move up quickly. The numerous Safety Cars did not work in my favor, there were too many, almost every lap at the start. The DRS was therefore only usable in 2e racing part. I didn't understand why the first safety car lasted so long. Even during Zane's accident (Maloney), she should not have intervened. He was so violent (the accident) that it was necessary to put a red flag directly instead of doing two laps behind the SC and then stopping.

From there, I had a superb second part of the race. I had excellent pace and I think that with one more lap I could gain two more places. On arrival it still makes 9e with points at stake."

Although he seemed happy after the day's great comeback, the Ile-de-France resident is not yet satisfied. Buoyed by his excellent race pace, Isack Hadjar hopes to be able to do it again this Sunday, taking advantage of a longer race. “ With three more laps tomorrow, perhaps less Safety Car and by negotiating the first corner better, I think I can aim for better than the Top 8. » His rivals have been warned.
