For 2e time of the season, Franco Colapinto (VAR) played the Argentinian anthem on the podium of the F3. Winner last April at Imola, the Argentinian signed his 2e victory of the season by winning the Sprint Race at Monza this Saturday.

Propelled to pole position thanks to the inverted grid, Franco Colapinto mastered his subject this Saturday morning in Lombardy. Having made a good start, the South American perfectly defended his position against Caio Collet (MP Motorsport) and Pepe Marti (Campos). Although he had to manage a restart after the accident of Zak O'Sullivan (Carlin), the Argentinian did not give in and resisted the return of Oliver Bearman (Prema) at the end of the race to cross the line finishing first.

Bearman doesn't let go of Martins

On the French side, this Sprint Race was somewhat eventful. Ninth on the grid, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix), championship leader, was forced to visit the gravel trap at the Curva Grande after contact with Arthur Leclerc (Prema) on the first lap. Falling back to the back of the peloton, the Ile-de-France resident took his problems patiently and made an incredible comeback to 10th place, saving 1 small point which could prove very important in the race for the title because behind him, Oliver Bearman has not said his last word.

Strong man of this final stretch of the season, the Briton, champion of F4 Italy and Germany last year, is the one who carried out the best operation of the day. While Victor Martins struggled to get back up and Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) was stuck at the back of the pack, Oliver Bearman showed his talent by chaining overtakes in the final laps. A very good reading even allowed him to gain the upper hand over Caio Collet and Jonny Edgar (Trident) and thus move up to 2nd with 2 passages to go. Ultimately, he missed a short lap, or a few meters, to win but this 2nd position allowed him to come back to 13 points behind Victor Martins with one race remaining in the championship. It promises !
