Race 2: Viscaal snatches victory at Zendeli in a thrilling finale

What a finish! On the very last lap of Race 2 this Sunday, Bent Viscaal (Trident) and Lirim Zendeli (Trident) fought for victory until the last corner. But it was ultimately the Dutchman Bent Viscaal who took his first success in the FIA F3

Thanks to a firm and aggressive defense when necessary, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) signed his 3rd podium of the season by taking 3rd place. The French driver, who started from 5th place, managed an excellent overtake on David Beckmann (Trident) at Stowe (Turn 11).

He then took advantage of the mechanical setbacks of the poleman on the grid, Ben Barnicoat (Carlin), to secure the podium, after big defenses on David Beckmann first, then on Liam Lawson (Hitech) then, who had the DRS.

Clément Novalak (Carlin), who was due to start on pole thanks to his 10th place in race 1, was demoted to 12th position after a 5-second penalty inflicted for taking advantage of an exit from the track on Saturday. He finished close to the points, in 9th position.

For his part, the winner of race 1 Logan sargeant, new leader of the championship, was forced to retire after being hit by his compatriot Cameron Das (Carlin). 6th placeOscar piastri (Prema Racing) in any case allows the American to stay at the top of the championship by a small point!
