David Schumacher at Trident in F3

Trident confirmed the signing of David Schumacher, 19 years old, for the campaign Formula 3 2021, announcing the German driver as its first recruit of the new season.

Son of the former pilot of Formula 1 Ralf Schumacher, the German driver is set to begin his second full season in F3, having previously competed for Charouz and Carlin in 2020. The German made his F3 debut at the 2019 season finale in Sochi. with Campos Racing.

Before moving to F3, Schumacher was the 4 UAE F2018 runner-up and also took three wins in the 2019 Formula Regional Europe.

Trident team principal Giacomo Ricci said: “David has great potential. He had the opportunity to compare the Trident team with others, during the official 2020 post-season tests, and we are proud that he decided to choose us. We have been able to develop an excellent relationship with David, in addition to a good work rate which I am sure will lead to very good results this season.

For David Schumacher, 2021 must be the season of rebound, after a catastrophic 2020 campaign where he scored no points with a Charouz team in difficulty at the start of the season.
