There were lots of people in the stands at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain this Sunday March 1, for the very first day of FIA collective testing Formula 3 in 2020. No less than 29 competitors donned the helmet under the Middle Eastern sun.
The best time was achieved during the afternoon session by Devlin DeFranscesco (Trident). The Canadian, aged 20, was ahead by only 16 thousandths the ghost Alexander Peroni (Campos Racing).
Blew the cobwebs away, hooked up some lapses to finish the day in P1. Definitely a great start, we go again tomorrow #fiaf3 #f3testing pic.twitter.com/46WBrBEdqs

The Australian had no longer rested his butt in a Dallara Formula 3 seat since its frightening flight into the Parabolic of Monza (Italy), early September 2019. The winner of the last Macau Grand Prix, Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) completes the virtual podium.
These three drivers were the only ones to record a time below the symbolic bar of one minute 47 seconds. The French beginner Theo Pourchaire, outgoing champion of German Formula 4, begins its association with the ART Grand Prix team with the fifth best time.

Among the legendary names of motor sports, we remained wise. Enzo Fittipaldi (HWA Racelab, grandson of Emerson Fittipaldi) is 19th, ahead of Jack Doohan (son of Mick Doohan, HWA Racelab). David Schumacher (offspring of Ralf Schumacher, Charouz) finished the day in 26th place, one place ahead of Matteo Nannini (nephew of Alessandro Nannini, Jenzer Motorsport).
FIA Formula 3 testing will continue until March 3.
