We really believed in the first victory of Victor Martins (MP Motorsport) in Formula 3. Especially when on the 4th lap, the Habs got the better of the Australian and took the lead on the 11th lap, after having honked behind him since the start of the race. But sportingly, the French driver decided to give up his place to the pole-sitter, after having overtaken at the limit of the off-track. It was undoubtedly more judicious to play it like this, so as not to risk a penalty. In any case, it is a superb second place for the Habs, who will have scored points in the three races of the weekend after having scored none in the five previous races. He also pocketed the two points for the fastest lap in the race, which put him back in the race for the podium.
Hauger limits damage
The flying start, inevitably in such wet conditions, did not really allow the drivers to make a difference in the first meters. But the spectacle was much better than during the first two sprint races. The Frenchman Clément Novalak (Trident), very good in the first part of the race, took a good 5th place after having superbly overcome Logan sargeant (Charouz).
Starting 14th after a difficult qualifying, Dennis Hauger (Prema) saved a few points by moving up six positions to finish 8th. The Norwegian, always very far-sighted, managed superb maneuvers in precarious grip conditions. Arriving 63 points ahead of his runner-up Jack Doohan (Trident) in Belgium, the pilot supported by Red Bull only has thirty left. If he maintains a comfortable mattress, everything seems to be restarted with two rounds to go. That’s good, the next match will take place next weekend, in Zandvoort.
