Hauger wants to “give everything until the last lap”

« It's not a weekend like any other », and for good reason Dennis Hauger is 3 races away from being crowned champion of Formula 3. Apart from a difficult round at Spa due to Prema's lack of competitiveness, the Norwegian showed extreme consistency to be in the lead before the championship final.

Author of 3 poles and 4 victories in 7 rounds, the Oslo native arrives in Russia with a lead of 43 points over Australian Jack Doohan. However, it is forbidden to relax for the 4 F2019 Italy champion: “ We are ahead but there are still points at stake (There are 65 left to distribute in Sochi. Editor’s note). I have to stay calm and do what I know how to do. We must also ensure the manufacturers title. You have to give everything until the last lap ».

Although he arrives at a circuit that he is discovering for the first time, the championship leader wants to be optimistic before the start of hostilities on Friday. « The Sochi track is long with long straights and turns techniques, he points out. The races are going to be interesting because we can come back even if we start from far away. I will try to progress throughout the weekend ».

The former Hitech driver has reason to be confident since in 2019 on this same track, Prema had achieved the 3 best laps in qualifying, before signing a double in Race 1 with Marcus Armstrong and Robert Shwartzman. The Italian team also placed two of its drivers on the podium in Race 2. In addition, the Scandinavian will be able to rely on the support of his compatriots to win this F3 title. : " I have a lot more support in Norway. It's nice to have people who support you ».

Dennis Hauger only has a few more steps to climb before potentially winning the title and moving up to the next level because his “ objective is the Formula 2 ».
