Hughes wins, podium for Pourchaire

What a race, once again! We almost wouldn’t even know where to start. Perhaps by saying that Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab) won, for the second time this season, after taking the lead on lap 10. The Briton beat Liam Lawson (Hitech) and Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) at the end of an almost indescribable race.

The Frenchman once again managed an exceptional race. Going out into the gravel on the 2nd lap, the Frenchman came out 18th... but behind him, he made an incredible comeback. The native of Grasse took advantage of the retirements and some well-thought-out maneuvers at the end of the race to come back and take the scalp of Lirim Zendeli for the podium two laps from the end. Pourchaire achieved a superb operation in the championship, since neither Logan sargeant, neither Oscar piastri, nor David Beckmann finished the race.

Sargeant, the great ride for nothing

In the fight for the title, the roller coaster continues. After regaining fifteen points and the championship lead from Logan Sargeant on Saturday, Oscar Piastri (Prema) had everything to consolidate his lead, while the American started 26th. But mid-race, Piastri was caught in a four-seater incident in the first chicane of the circuit.

The Australian undoubtedly imagined losing the championship lead he had gained the day before. But Logan Sargeant (Prema), in the battle for the podium after starting from… 26th place (!), lost big on a maneuver that was a bit too authoritarian on his teammate Frédérik Vesti (Prema). As a result, the three Prema single-seaters ended up on the mat, and it was Théo Pourchaire and Liam Lawson who were smiling…

Despite everything, Piastri (160 pts) and Sargeant (152 pts) remain well ahead at the top of the championship. The two men, if they do not make any mistakes, will compete for the title next weekend at Mugello, for the last round of the season.
