Jehan Daruvala (Prema Racing) won this Saturday morning in the main FIA race F3, after a pitched battle with his teammates Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong, and pole sitter Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab).
The latter had perfectly mastered his take-off ahead of Pedro Piquet (Trident) author of a magnificent move to overtake the two Prema single-seaters of Robert Swhartzman and Jehan Daruvala.
A start that the Brazilian driver could not achieve, however, since Daruvala then Marcus Armstrong, third thief of the Prema team, came to regain the advantage over Piquet.
In the lead, Hughes maintains his lead but the Briton sees Daruvala coming back in his rear view before the Indian takes control of the race by diving while braking on the last corner.
If the new leader escapes quickly, Hughes must now face Armstrong and Swhartzman, the former spending a time in second position before the Briton responds.
But on the 15th lap, an off-track pass by Hughes at the exit of the second turn allowed the two Prema drivers to get on the provisional podium, with Shwartzman also taking second from Armstrong.
A lap later, Hughes tried to pass the two drivers of the Italian team braking at the chicane on the Mistral straight, but missed his attack and hit Armstrong. Hughes retired when Armstrong lost big in the fight for victory, losing several positions. Shwartzman and Piquet find themselves fighting for the last two places on the podium.

Daruvala won in the end ahead of Shwartzman and Piquet, and signed his second consecutive success after his victory in the sprint race in Barcelona in Catalonia. The Indian also allows Prema to remain undefeated this year.
Juri Vips (Hitech GP) and Bent Viscaal (HWA Racelab) complete the top 5 ahead of the unfortunate Armstrong. Alex Peroni (Campos Racing) finished 8th and secured pole position for tomorrow's sprint race.
Our first 1-2 in @ FIAFormula3 what is shame for @MarcusArmstrong who could have made it in the top 3 # FIAF3 #FrenchGP pic.twitter.com/tzxgvNnyHw
