Jüri Vips holds off Daruvala at Silverstone

Jüri Vips (Hitech GP) scored his second victory in two meetings by winning Race 1 of the F3 at Silverstone (Great Britain) where he started on pole. The Estonian resisted the attacks of Jehan Daruvala (Prema Racing), himself closely followed by his teammate Marcus Armstrong who had to work to regain his position after missing his start.

Leonardo Pulcini (Hitech GP) finished just off the podium, ahead of Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing). The title contender took advantage of the complicated end of the race from Christian Lundgaard (ART GP) who fell in the standings in the final laps by taking 7th place behind Pedro Piquet Jr (Trident).

The race was interrupted by the accident of Raoul Hyman (Sauber Junior Team by Charouz) who went off the track, ending up in the tire wall. The Briton emerged from the accident unscathed.

Liam Lawson (MP Motorsport) is set to start from pole for Race 2 after taking 8th place ahead of Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab).

F2 Race 3 at Silverstone will be broadcast live this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on Canal+ Sport.
