- Shared feelings in the Trident clan after qualifying in Australia. Shared because the Italian team won pole position thanks to Leonardo Fornaroli, its second after Silverstone last July, but also lost Sami Meguetounif in a violent exit from the track.
- So on a good lap which would undoubtedly have allowed it to place itself at the forefront given the data, the Habs were unable to realize their efforts. Perhaps too much on the attack in the last turns, Sami Meguetounif went too wide at the start of the start/finish straight and could not avoid the accident. Starting against the wall outside, the Marseillais seriously damaged his car and caused a red flag in the process 4 minutes from time. 16e at the time of the interruption, he logically fell in the ranking when he resumed to 26e final place while he watched the end of the session from the pits.

- At the top of the timesheet, it was his teammate Leonardo Fornaroli who managed to take pole position thanks to a lap in 1'33"044. On the line it didn't matter much since the Italian beat his compatriot Gabriele Mini (Prema) by only 19 thousandths. Dino Beganovic (Prema) won 3e place but the Swede was somewhat behind, conceding 3 tenths.
- Nikola Tsolov (ART Grand Prix) who made a name for himself during free practice finished 7e just behind Mari Boya (Campos). As a reminder, the Bulgarian received a penalty of three places on the grid for the next race in which he will take part. Instead of leaving 6e of the Sprint this Saturday (1:15 a.m. French time), he will therefore start 9e.
- Pole position for the reverse grid went to Laurens Van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix), 12e qualifications.
