Pilot of the Weekend: Jack Doohan (Trident)
Main competitor of Dennis Hauger (Prema) in the championship, the Australian was 63 points behind before this Belgian round. A pole position – the first of his career in the category – and two victories (in race 2 on Saturday and in race 3 on Sunday) allowed him to undoubtedly be the man of the weekend and to come back to just 25 points behind the Norwegian. in the championship.

Disappointment of the weekend: Prema
If he took back so many points from Hauger, Jack Doohan owes it to himself, but also a little to Prema's setbacks. Scarecrow of the category and arch-dominator since the start of the season (not to mention since the creation of the championship), the team led by René Rosin had a bad weekend in Belgium, disrupted by terrible weather conditions. It happens so rarely to see the Italian structure in difficulty that inevitably it was difficult to miss it. In total, the three drivers scored a total of… eight points. Unusual.
The video of the weekend: Caio Collet overtaking at the top of the steep slope
In ambush behind three competitors who were struggling at the top of the steep slope, Caio Collet arrived at full speed and overtook his three competitors. A magnificent maneuver, especially in such tricky conditions on a wet track. The Brazilian was nevertheless logically penalized five seconds for taking advantage of the limits of the track. “I was off track at Eau Rouge, but in that situation, at 230 km/h in the rain, if I had moved or braked, I think there would have been a crash. For me, it was better to stay at full throttle so as not to avoid any contact, but the penalty is logical. I mainly did that to avoid the crash.”

Fact of the Weekend: The Martins-Doohan Maneuver
Starting on pole for race 3, Jack Doohan had to resist the pressure put on by Victor Martins for a large part of the race. The Frenchman actually attacked the Australian on the 4th lap, at turn 9. After being slightly thrown off the track, Martins and Doohan were side by side in turn 10, when Victor decided to go through the outside, being somewhat off-piste. The Habs took the lead in the race, before being forced to give it back to their competitor for having carried out their maneuver off the track.

The statement of the weekend:
Juan Manuel Correa, Friday, on his return to the place where he had a serious accident in 2019: “I think there are two JM (Juan Manuel Correa, Editor’s note) who will go to Spa. There will be the JM of the 2021 Formula 3 season who will be focused and treat this race like any other race, believes the driver of the French ART Grand Prix team. Then there is the personal JM whose life was marked by what happened at Spa two years ago. It will always be special to me because of what happened, because of the fact that Anthoine lost his life... It will always be moving. There is also this angle that I will have to manage. I'll try not to get too distracted but it's a reality, and I'm also happy to go and race again after so long. It will be an opportunity for me to face my fears and show everyone that I can drive there without any problems and hopefully have some good races. »
