Lundgaard on pole after prematurely ended session

The scenario of this FIA qualification F3 in Monza experienced a rather bizarre end on track with a session prematurely cut short for “safety reasons” according to the race management.

The peloton had in fact grouped together too much in the last minutes for the taste of the officials, who logically feared an accident.

In fact, the early end of the session allowed the Dane Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix) to claim his second pole of the year after that obtained in Hungary. The protected driver of Renault had previously achieved the best provisional time in 1'38″834, 135 thousandths ahead of Marcus Armstrong (Prema).

Championship leader, Robert Shwartzman (Prema) will start on the second row ahead of Jehan Daruvala (Prema), while the third row will see Lirim Zendeli (Sauber Junior Team by Charouz) and Teppei Natori (Carlin).

The main race will take place tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
