The man in form of the moment is definitely him. At Zandvoort this Sunday, Zane Maloney (Trident) got the better of Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) to sign his 2e consecutive victory in the Main Race, one week after that obtained at Spa-Francorchamps.
However, things did not start well for Zane Maloney in the Netherlands. Starting in pole position, the Barbadian was immediately surprised by Victor Martins who, thanks to a better reaction at the start, took control from the first corner. Unable to respond, the Trident pilot was patient and preferred to wait in the Frenchman's wake.
Returning to contact just before the halfway mark, Zane Maloney this time imposed his law against Victor Martins. Sucked in by the Frenchman, the pole-sitter crossed his trajectory at the first corner, surprising his opposite number who was forced to bow. Despite two race restarts in the final laps, the Trident driver did not tremble and raced towards his 2nd victory in a row in the Main Race.
Martins the right operation
Perhaps disappointed to have missed the chance to win a third victory this year, Victor Martins still performed well in the Dutch seaside resort. The Habs' 3nd position at the finish allows them to dislodge Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP), 2th under the checkerboard, from the leadership position.
With one round remaining (Monza next week), Victor Martins leads the debates with a 5-point lead (126 against 121) over his great friend. Come to Lombardy to find out the outcome of this season of F3.
