Trident is celebrating this Sunday. Lying in ambush behind pole sitter Caio Collet (MP Motorsport), Zane Maloney and Roman Stanek played it strategic to achieve the double for the Italian team at Spa-Francorchamps.

Like the Saturday Sprint, this Main Race was also very eventful from the first lap. Too much on the attack approaching the Bus Stop chicane, Kush Maini (MP Motorsport) swept away everything in his path, including Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix), forced to retire in the process. At the front of the peloton, pole sitter Caio Collet regained his leading position from the restart at the end of the 5th lap. A short restart since the race was interrupted a few seconds later after the accident of Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix).

Forced to defend his position at the time of the new restart, Caio Collet could do nothing this time against Zane Maloney, drawn all the way to Les Combes and who had no trouble taking control. Sandwiched between the Tridents, the Brazilian then could not resist the return of Roman Stanek and was forced to bow. On their way, the drivers of the trans teamalpine ensured the last laps to offer the double to their bosses.

Bearman returns to the championship

In addition to Zane Maloney's first victory of the season, the Main Race was a success for Oliver Bearman (Prema). Although 4th at the finish, the Englishman took advantage of the 5-second penalty inflicted on Caio Collet (reckless return to the track at the start) to take the podium. The member of the Ferrari Driver Academy carried out the perfect operation of the weekend since title contenders Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP), Victor Martins and Arthur Leclerc (Prema) did not score a single point this Sunday.

With two rounds still to go (Netherlands and Italy), Oliver Bearman is now 2nd in the championship with 105 points, one less than leader Isack Hadjar, 14th in the Main Race. The end of the season promises to be lively!
