The 2022 calendar of the Formula 3 does not display fourteen innings like that of its big sister Formula 2. But it still has nine, two more than this year and as many as in 2020. For the first time, F3 will leave European borders by going to Bahrain, to kick off its season , at the same time as that of the F1 and F2. First time, because the trip planned to Austin this year was ultimately canceled due to the pandemic.
A triple header to finish
The rest will be a fairly traditional and European program, with a premiere in Imola, but a visit to Barcelona, Silverstone, Spielberg and even Budapest, which are places usually visited by the series. As usual, the season will end in mid-September, this time with a triple header Spa-Francorchamps (August 26-28) – Zandvoort (September 2 to 4) – Monza (September 09-11). On the other hand, no meeting at Le Castellet as was the case in 2020.
“Formula 3 will support two more F1 Grands Prix in 2022 compared to 2021, welcomed Bruno Michel, the championship promoter. This will also allow our drivers to race on two additional tracks as well as to be present with F2 and F1 at all meetings.
